What Rayearth thinks about the Rayearth OVA
The Rayearth OVA is another great Anime done by CLAMP! The art work (some) are even better than the series! The story line is a bit complicated, but at least everything was explained in the end :) Even though if you don't like the story line, I'm quite sure that you'll like the theme song All You Need Is Love, especially when you've found out what the words mean. This OVA is one of the best OVAs I've ever seen.
A brief account on how Rayearth got to know the Rayearth OVA
I must thank Seresu for this. It was one of the holidays in the summer when I was rather busy at home but he managed to get me out to the streets to have some air (not really fresh air in Hong Kong). We went to the usual places where we check out Anime stuff and when I was looking at a pile of VCDs, I noticed a cover that looks somewhat familiar. I took a closer look and soon found out it was the Rayearth OVA VCD episode 1. Without even thinking about if I should spend my money on it, I grabbed it and paid for it. After I saw the first episode, I was eager to get my hands on the next two. When the other two came, I got them all and watched the whole thing again. Just a word about Seresu. When I attempted to tell him the story by phone, he thought it was a dumb OVA, but when I lend him the VCDs, he was as mad as I was :) Also something about All You Need Is Love. I loved the song from the start, but Seresu said I'm too boring to sing that song over and over again - I did - but once he heard the song from the VCD and listened again to the mp3, he didn't complain anymore (well, nearly anymore).
What is so special about the Rayearth OVA to Rayearth?
This OVA is very special. It didn't have the expected ending - the three staying together. It has a real ending - they part. That really shook me and made me remember that life is harsh. At first, I didn't think much about it. But later when someone who meant very much to me said no to me, that made me think back. Not immediately to this OVA, but when I watched it again, it struck me and it was, indeed a lesson to be learnt. The theme song All You Need Is Love really touched my heart too, the words kind of describe how I feel.
