Rayearth's Description

When Eagle first makes an appearance on board the NSX with Geo and Zazu, anybody would think he's the typical bad guy in town and he's going down with the typical first of justice and all that sometime in the later episodes. But just as MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH had proven to be not all that typical, you can count on Eagle having other reasons behind his lead of the invasion. His purpose here is to learn about the "Pillar System" (that's what he calls it) of Cefiro. He (or rather most of Autozam) believes that the "Pillar System" of Cefiro is perfect and can make anything possible just as what it was like when Princess Emeraude was still alive.

Apparently, Eagle knows Lantis, who was in Cefiro now. Although Eagle won't be shaken by anything for his quest of Cefiro, Lantis is an obstacle he must get past since invading Cefiro while Lantis was there gives him a sense of guilt. Later on, Eagle gets to know Hikaru and explains he is here because Autozam is dying from pollution (what more could you expect from a technology boosting country anyway?) and he believes the "Pillar System" could be able to save Autozam. Apparently, he and Hikaru end up fighting to be "Pillar" in the Manga. However, he died trying to save Lantis in the Anime.
