E P I S O D E   2

Hikaru has a dream of the scene where she first meets Umi and Fuu. It's afterschool and raining. She lent her umbrella to another student who forgot their own umbrella while lying she has an extra umbrella. She then stands at the exit, waiting for the rain to stop. Others watching comment how Hikaru is acting arrogant and also expects someone else to lend their umbrella to herself. She yells out in denial as Umi and Fuu also gaze at her with concerned looks. Hikaru cries louder until she wakes up. She notices Cefiro castle is still standing and remembers what happened.

Hikaru gets up and wonders about the cape covering her. A wolf approaches and Hikaru tries to summon Lexus to fight it off, but Lexus does not answer. Lantis enters from the shadows and explains Lexus will no longer answer her wishes. He takes the cape and puts it back on. Lantis explains to Hikaru she is just a "sacrifice" being fooled by a chance to become part of the legend and the power that comes with it. Hikaru denies and claims she was chosen to fight for Earth. Lantis stare at her sorrowfully and before Hikaru knows it, she's transported to a maze. Lantis says if she really is chosen by the legend, she will be able to break out of the maze easily. Meanwhile, Fuu is staring up into the sky, wondering if she has the strength to fight as Hikaru did. Windam talks to her in her head to explain that everything that is given life will die sometime, even the magic from Cefiro cannot change that fate. What is important is the courage to take the first step in your struggle and Fuu is granted the Green Ovum from Mokona. She goes back into the cafe they are hiding with some food, while Clef is exhausted from earlier ordeal and is sleeping. Fuu hands Umi the food, but Umi notices that she is wearing a glove to hide the Ovum. Umi blames Fuu for always deciding things by herself, but backs down before things get even more out of hand. She also lies down to take a nap.

Fuu makes up her mind to find Windam. She rides on an unmanned monorail that is still running, but is followed by Ferio. Ferio stops the train and attacks it with his bug like underlings. Fuu teleports away from the train just as it is destroyed. She reappears in an area of the city near where she lives, but Ferio is just behind her. She refuses to fight him since she does not understand his reason to fight. Ferio came prepared for a fight as he knew how strong Lexus was, but is now annoyed Fuu is just all talk. He ignores her and starts to destroy the city to dig out where Windam is hiding. Fuu watches on as the city she knew is slowly destroyed and acknowledges that although she does not like to argue with others, she has no intention to let her life be controlled by fate. As she concentrates, she hears heartbeats and realizes Windam is in a big baseball stadium. She rushes inside but see Ferio's bugs are already there eating away at the structure. Ferio tries to follow her but is stopped by Windam's barrier. He resorts to ordering his bugs to eat away the ceiling, but before he can break in, Windam reveals himself and blows them all away in a gale. Fuu begs Windam to take her to a more empty area so their battle will not wreck the city any further. Ferio merges his bugs into a huge bug and follows Fuu.

At the same time, Ascot is trying to force Clef and Umi out of the barrier Clef setup by melting away the cafe they were hiding in. Clef warps them both outside, but is weakened further. A huge lobster looking thing then rampages towards them as Clef takes Umi further away with his magic but is seemingly crushed by debris himself. Umi falls to her knees complaining why she is the only one left. Ascot appears before her and says if she doesn't want to be the last one left, then just accept her fate and let him kill her. Umi once again flees and ends up at harbor, where she hears the voice of Seresu. Mokona shows up and grants Umi the Blue Ovum just as Seresu appears in the middle of the lake, throwing a shockwave to push Ascot back. In retaliation, Ascot merges with his lobster and turns into an even bigger and meaner looking lobster. He fires balls of water at Seresu while Seresu asks Umi what she wishes for. Umi wishes that she had the power to be true to herself and not become a burden for her friends. She merges with Seresu and starts a fight with Ascot.

Back in Cefiro castle, Eagle comments that all three Mashin are now awaken and gives the impression everything is turning out as he planned. In another part of the castle, Alcyone is chained to pillar as punishment for her defeat and calls for Eagle to give her another chance, reasoning that even if she no longer has her Mashin, she is still able to use magic. Eagle asks if she is willing to give up her life, which she answers that she is willing to give away her life for the wish of Princess Emeraude. Eagle then shows her what remains of the people of Cefiro - nothing but bones - and tells her she will join their ranks as she has disappointed him. Windam flies overhead and Umi realizes that Fuu has also succeeded in awakening her Mashin. Windam takes her over to an airport and Fuu decides to fight Ferio on the runway where they will cause minimal damage to the surroundings. She merges with Windam as Ferio merges with his giant bug to turn into an even bigger bug. Ferio then attacks Fuu with the sonic booms he is able to create with his Mashin's high frequency wings.

Meanwhile, Hikaru still trapped in the maze is exhausted in attempting to find an exit and falls to her feet. Lantis shows her a vision of Fuu fighting Ferio and appears if she will loose, trying to discourage Hikaru from continuing her quest. Hikaru remembers she is fighting for their friendship, not for to fulfill a legend, and her Ovum starts glowing red again.

As for the fight continues between Umi and Ascot, Umi taunts Ascot that he has never fought anybody stronger than himself so he has turned into a spoiled kid. Ascot barks back she should not compare him with the useless Alcyone who not only failed to kill Clef, but also failed to finish off Hikaru. Umi catches on that Hikaru is not dead yet, the good news turns into power and Umi finishes Ascot off with a Mizu no Ryu. On the other hand, things are not going so well with Fuu. She is unable to counter Ferio's continuous attacks and Windam falls to his knees. As Ferio closes in, Fuu asks why they are invading Earth even if there is nothing here for them. Ferio explains that it is all for "somebody's wish" and attempts to deliver the final blow just as Umi informs Fuu Hikaru is still alive and Fuu needs to keep fighting so they can see each other again. Windam dodges Ferio's attack as Fuu realizes she cannot be defeated yet and defeats Ferio with a Midori no Shippu.

Umi makes her way to Fuu as the fighting ends as they suddenly hear a voice singing. The defeated Ascot sneaks behind them and throws an attack at Seresu, throwing him to the ground. Umi comments the aura Ascot is giving off is not the same Ascot she fought before. A white bird flies over Ascot while Eagle is seen laughing while standing over Cefiro castle's walls.
